[right]Following last year’s success with The Magic Flute concert performances, Cambridge Operatic Society are delighted to be undertaking a similar project this year.

Count Almaviva is tiring of the Countess his wife and pursuing her maid Susanna. His valet Figaro is planning his own wedding to Susanna but being pursued by the vengeful Doctor Bartolo, who is intent on marrying him to his elderly housekeeper Marcellina. The young page Cherubino is in love with anything and everything female, but especially the Countess and the gardener’s daughter Barberina. As “the crazy day” progresses, the complications multiply – will Figaro and Susanna succeed in uniting everyone, and in being united themselves? Beaumarchais’ classic farce is united with some of Mozart’s greatest music in a warmly human comic drama.

The concert will be performed three times;

Emmanuel United Reformed Church, Cambridge

4th & 5th July

Ely Festival

6th July

All auditions have been carried out and soon we will be posting the Cast List, watch this space!
